Florence Court Kitchen Gardens
Oral History Project

What Kathy Dunphy, Senior Project's Officer at the National Trust, says about working with Dr Angela Maye-Banbury on the Florence Court kitchen garden oral history project
I had the fortune and great pleasure to cross paths with Angela when she led the oral history workstream of the Florence Court Kitchen Garden project in County Fermanagh in 2023. I was coordinating the delivery of the project to reinstate and conserve the kitchen garden at Florence Court, funded by the National Lottery and the National Trust. Angela’s part in this was to identify and build relationships with key members in the kitchen garden community, collecting their broad stories into a rich heritage fabric within the project. Angela's high quality working standards and professionalism, blended with her integrity, sense of humour and full presence in every moment resulted in a unique work experience that will forever stay with me. She is patient and generous with her time for others, and ensures everyone gets the same level of quality and attention to detail. Those around her learned by both osmosis and dedicated training from Angela's expertise in oral history, heritage and academia. The project attained a much higher level with Angela's involvement, and I am very grateful for her contribution.
