Oral History Made Easy is a six step programme which will transform you from novice to proficient oral historian in eight weeks. Each week, you will take attend a weekly on online workshop lasting 1.5 hours delivered live by renowned oral historian and award winning former university lecturer Dr Angela Maye-Banbury. Using tried and tested teaching methods known to promote engagement and deeper learning, this structured and cohesive training progamme will give the confidence, capabilities and competencies needed to practice as an oral historian. You will have access to high levels resources such as checklists, case studies, real life scenarios and much more to support your professional and personal development along the way. 

 

At Oral History Made Easy, you are centre stage in your own development journey in becoming an oral historian. Over the course of your educational journey, we will support you in  identifying and meeting  your strategic development goals. One to one mentorship with Dr Angela Maye-Banbury and peer support will set you up to succeed as your realise your ambition to become an accomplished oral historian.

By the end of  Oral History Made Easy, the six steps to success programme to become an oral historian, you will have: 


(i) Developed the core skills and competencies required to practice as an oral historian in a diverse range of contexts.


(ii) Acquired essential knowledge relevant to research ethics and integrity in oral history, namely the importance of informed consent, data protection, copyright and health and well being as an oral historian.


(iii) Engaged in deeper learning by applying the principles which support reflective practice and experiential learning fostered by one to one mentorship and peer support.
